Please join us on Wednesday, February 22 from 12:30-2:00 at the 2012 Ocean Sciences Meeting! Lunch will be provided. The Interagency Ocean Observation Committee (IOOC) is holding a town hall meeting at the conference to unite ocean observers, researchers, and data managers for a discussion on how to shape the next decade of ocean observing. This town hall will serve as a lead up to the upcoming IOOS Summit is planned for November 2012 that will assess and build on the original IOOS development workshop held ten years ago.

This town hall is an opportunity for Ocean Sciences Meeting 2012 attendees to influence the outcomes of the upcoming IOOS summit through providing input to the 2012 Summit organizers. Several IOOC/IOOS leaders will seek audience input through presentations and facilitated discussions. Most importantly, they will be looking to Ocean Sciences ‘12 attendees for suggestions on enhancing marine research, operations, and funding. For more information please contact Josh Young at jyoung@oceanleadership.org or call 202-787-1645.
